Kenya Prisons who were the last Kenyan team to win the title in 2013 have been drawn in a manageable Pool C with Rwanda Patriotic Army, CNS and National Alcohol of Ethiopia.
The pools have been announced after the drawing of lots ahead of the Africa Women’s Volleyball Club Championship to be staged in Tunisia. Kenya is represented by Pipeline, Prisons and KCB and each will look towards scaling the country to the top of African women’s volleyball club games.
Pipeline who finished fifth in last year’s edition were drawn in Pool D and will square it out with record champions Al Ahly of Egypt, Ghana’s WAK and Nigeria’s Customs.
Meanwhile, Kenya Prisons who were the last Kenyan team to win the title in 2013 have been drawn in a manageable Pool C with Rwanda Patriotic Army, CNS and National Alcohol of Ethiopia.
KCB, who are returning to the event having last participated last in 2019 where they were placed ninth , are in Pool B together with defending champions Carthage of Tunisia, ASEC Mimosa of Ivory Coast and Ndeje University of Uganda.
“This year we have a more experienced team and the players have really trained well and are ready to do their best. I believe we will leave a good performance in Tunisia and the first target is to get to the quarter finals,” said KCB coach Japheth Munala.
Hosts Kelibia headline Pool ‘A’ that has Rwanda Revenue Authority, FAP from Cameroon and VCL.
