Mega Millions Host Mixes Up Jackpot Numbers In Recent Drawing, Are You Affected?

New York Lottery’s Mega Millions announced on Wednesday that its host had incorrectly read a number for the Mega Ball in a recent drawing. This has caused payouts to be suspended for that drawing.

The number was read as 9 instead of 6 during Tuesday’s lottery drawing. The mix-up was described by Mega Millions as a “human error.”

“The host of the Mega Millions drawing incorrectly called the Mega Ball a 6 instead of a 9. The 9 ball was drawn into the chamber and is the official result,” Mega Millions said in its YouTube channel video caption.

“We apologize for the confusion,” the Mega Millions YouTube channel caption added.

The correct results include the white balls 15, 19, 20, 61, and 70, which were originally read correctly, plus the gold Mega Ball 9.

“The New York Lottery is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” the lotto said in a statement.

“The Lottery has temporarily suspended prize payments for all Mega Millions tickets and all Mega Millions players should hold on to their tickets for the May 10, 2022, drawing until the issue is resolved,” it added.

The estimated Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday was $86 million.

The next estimated jackpot is $99 million for Friday if no tickets match the correct six numbers.
