CHICAGO (CBS) — Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to lend a serving to hand in Douglass Park in North Lawndale Saturday on Earth Day weekend.
Several neighborhood teams joined forces for a greener, cleaner park.
The objective is to maintain Douglass Park in thoughts not simply this weekend however on a regular basis.
Saturday’s occasion ran from 9 a.m. to midday and was adopted by a neighborhood celebration with meals and music.
It was organozed by Friends of the Parks together with the Chicago Park District and the Forest Preserves of Cook County.
